Burns Night Supper at The Carlton, Ilfracombe

Join us on Saturday, 24th January, as once again we celebrate Scotland’s most famous poet, Robert Burns, with an extraordinary six-course Scottish Supper in The Brasserie. 

Experience a true taste of Scotland, featuring classics like Cullen Skink, haggis with neeps and tatties, Exmoor National Park beef fillet with a whisky peppercorn sauce, fresh salmon fillet with scallops, Clootie Dumpling, raspberry Cranachan, and a Tipsy Laird.

To round off your meal a selection of Scottish cheeses, chutney, and crackers, followed by coffee and whisky truffles. 

We’ll be honouring the bard Robert Burns, whose legacy is celebrated far and wide on the anniversaryof his birth in 1759. These special suppers originated on the fifth anniversary of his death, and our tribute continues the tradition in a relaxed style, centred on exceptional food — accompanied, naturally, by a dram or two! 

All Diets Catered For

Our special Burns Night menu has vegan options and we can cater for coeliac and gluten free diets too! Let us know beforehand and we’ll ensure you can experience the majority of our menu.

Traditional Piper 

Adding to the evening’s charm, Mark Shortt returns to pipe in dinner guests on arrival. And the haggis will be piped in to a formal address as part of the evenings celebration of good food and good company.
If you have dietary requirements, let us know, as we can offer alternatives such as gluten-free or vegan options. 
Arrive at 6:30 pm to enjoy canapés and your choice of a whisky cocktail—Rob Roy—or a glass of fizz. Dinner begins at 7:00 pm, where you’ll embark on a memorable six-course journey.
