With the weather cooling down and the trees dropping their leaves, Autumn is here, and there\u2019s never been a better time to enjoy this beautiful area. No matter the age, there\u2019s plenty of activities taking place to involve the whole family in.<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">As always, there&#8217;s a fun-filled, family day out with The Milky Way, and with the\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.themilkyway.co.uk\/childrens-events-north-devon\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Hocus Pocus<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0event, there is a Halloween twist to enjoy. This includes Merlin&#8217;s magical show, the spooky swamp dodgems and the exciting School for Witches and Wizards where spell writing and casting will be available to learn as well as the art of potion making.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">There&#8217;s lots for ewe to do at\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thebigsheep.co.uk\/halloween\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The Big Sheep<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">! On top of the usual entertainment including live animal shows and indoor play, there&#8217;s a daily prize for the best Halloween fancy dress, pumpkin carving, a spooky-themed train and tractor rides as part of the seasonal antics throughout the day.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Quince Honey Farm is joining in on the Autumn fun with a more traditional approach to celebrating the harvest. This is a particularly important month in the British farming calendar, especially with Devon being a strong farming community. This is a time in which crops are harvested for animal feed and food. This year, Quince Honey Farm will be inviting visitors to experience harvest first-hand with their first-ever\u00a0<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Apple and Honey Harvest<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">If it&#8217;s traditional Halloween events you&#8217;re after, then look no further as The Woodpecker Bar and Kitchen in Ilfracombe are offering a\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/profile.php?id=100068813482986\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">pumpkin carving<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0experience where you will be able to take your spooky creations home as well as warm up with a hot chocolate while you\u2019re there.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The scenery around Arlington Court is particularly vibrant this time of year, and what better way to take in the colours than to embark on their\u00a0<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Scarecrow Trail<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">, created by local schools, to lead you through the grounds. How many will you find? A lantern workshop will also be taking place on Saturday 29th October for you to get crafty.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Watermouth Castle is offering a\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.watermouthcastle.com\/halloween-half-term\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Spooktacular Half-Term<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">, in which the castle is uniquely decorated, perfect for plenty of photo opportunities, complete with a giant cauldron!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Get in the Halloween spirit with a\u00a0<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Spooky Garden Trail<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0at Castle Hill Gardens, on Friday 28th October. Uncover the mysteries to solve the puzzle and enter your answer for a sweet surprise at the end of your visit. Refreshments will be served all day and other activities such as face painting and pumpkin carving will also be available.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur have a fun-packed\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/cmwdp.co.uk\/whatss-on\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Halloween Spooktacular<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0over the half term. As well as their usual daily animal talks, a pumpkin trial will also be available along with other Halloween-themed activities. Don&#8217;t forget to catch T-Rex and friends who wake up every hour, on the hour!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">For the more active adults, the\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.parkrun.org.uk\/woolacombedunes\/course\/?fbclid=IwAR2yjQHy304nrHsCyhsmzANUML4LJuSBaGTiqDyGUedAWKIXJSOZtvyxRVs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Woolacombe Dunes Parkrun<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0will continue to take place every Saturday including through the Autumn period. This is a free weekly event with a friendly community where you complete a 5k course at your own pace.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Ride the\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cliffrailwaylynton.co.uk\/whats-on\/cliff-railway-halloween-spooktacular-kids-deadly-disco-october-31st\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Lynton and Lynmouth Cliff Railway<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0at night on Monday 31st October to meet the zombie driver telling spooky stories by candlelight.
